A Letter of Welcome for Pastor Greg Sparkes
Welcome to our website, as pastor of the Geary Baptist Church
I am very glad to have you visit our site. On it you will
find updated information about our activities and events,
information about our history and beliefs, and links that
take you on a spiritual journey. That is really what Geary
baptist is all about – taking people on a spiritual
journey.
It is our desire that alll people know that God loves them
and has a desire to see each one walking in an intimate relationship
with Him. This often begins with an introduction to faith
by a friend or group then to move on to the knowledge that
we have offended God by not living with Him as our guide.
Often the next step in our spiritual journey is the one most
remembered, it is turning from how we once lived, without
God in control, to walking daily with him as our Guide. This
step is called salvation. It is called salvation because we
are, at this point, saved from the judgement of God by accepting
Jesus death as our substitute. Yes, because of our sin Jesus
came and took our place and died our death for us. But this
is a crucial step in our spiritual Journey for without it
our journey cannot go on and we are sure to fall at the Judgement
of God.
The book of John tells us:
"But to all who believed him and accepted
him, he gave the right to become children of God."

From this place in our journey we have many steps but God
is patient and continues to lead us to know Him and walk with
Him as our Guide.
No matter where you might be in your spiritual journey Geary
Baptist has a place for you. Hopefully after visiting our
site you will consider joining us for service on Sunday Mornings
at 10:45. If you haven't been to church for a while that is
ok for we have many who visit only time to time and others
who are regular. Our come as you are, church service makes
for a comfortable atmosphere. I hope to see you soon.

Vision
Our vision for the future of the Geary Baptist Church
can be found in the words of Christ in Matthew 28:19-20. We
are to make all people disciples of Jesus Christ. It is our
desire to do this through the purpose of the local church:
ministry, fellowship, evangelism, discipleship, and worship.
We believe that these directives are of God and are represented
in our motto: "We Shall Follow Jesus".
