Love of God

Kids will have an exciting new challenge at VBS in
2010. At High Seas Expedition, kids will be on the
look-out for God Sightings™. Kids and adults will get
caught up in the excitement of finding places and situations
where they see God in action—or ways they can be a God
Sighting!
Each
day during Sail Away Cinema, Crews will share their latest
God Sightings. Then Crew Leaders will write their Crew's God
Sightings on special map marker stickers and add them to a
fun God Sightings map. By the end of your VBS, everyone will
literally see a trail of evidence that God is at work in our
world!
God Sightings
Help
kids see what God is doing all around us!
A burning bush…an assault of plagues…Jesus’
resurrection. The Bible tells us God performed big stuff—miracles—to
make himself known. But he’s acting in our everyday
lives and all around us, too. Help children understand that.
Lead them to see the world differently, with God Sightings!
How It Works
Kids
will keep an eye out for “God in action” in their
everyday lives—they’ll even notice the daily demonstrations
of his love that are often overlooked…
- Find four powerful things God made.
- Look for someone showing God’s love at a sporting
event.
- Take a long drink of cold water—and thank God for
providing the water you need to stay alive.
…and they’ll discover how they can be a God
Sighting by showing Christ’s love.
- Place a fun treat or note on a family member’s pillow.
- Give a smile to someone who doesn’t have one.
- Share an extra-delicious chocolate chip cookie.

No matter what station they're exploring, kids will hear the
daily Bible Point–and experience it in a new way! At
High Seas Expedition, the daily Bible Point is carefully integrated
into each station’s activities to reinforce Bible learning.
Each activity is an important part of kids’ overall
learning experience—kind of like the pieces of a puzzle.
Day 1 – God's word is true
Day 2 – God's word is comforting
Day 3 – God's word is surprising
Day 4 – God's word life-changing
Day 5 – God's word is for everyone
Operation
Kid to KidTM - The
2010 Operation Kid-to-Kid missions program warms hearts and
minds and allows children to share the joy of God’s
love. Kids will learn what it means to help others as they
create a Prayer Bear that says “Jesus” in English,
Spanish, and French. Plus, everyone can personalize a Survivor's
Bible to send along with the Prayer Bear to an orphan in Africa.
Join us in one of the world’s largest forces mobilizing
kids in serving others around the world.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL UPDATE

each blanket is $15. Donations for the cost of the blankets

We are still looking for Crew Leaders for the morning VBS.
