LIVING FOR GOD IN AN UNGODLY WORLD
Guys and Girls - Ages 11-15
Tuesday nights from 6-7:30pm
June 10 – August 19, 2008
Games, Snacks, Relax and Chat

A time to talk and share the struggles we as young adults have in trying to live for the Lord daily while being surrounded by things of this world.
Sometimes it’s confusing to know what’s right and wrong because the world is making everything ok and telling you that if it makes you feel good you should do it.
Sin is being accepted now instead of being dealt with. We all struggle with knowing how we should act around others and knowing when to say something and when to just be quiet and let your lives do the talking.
We may even question ourselves at times as to why we believe the things we do and why we should stand up for the cause of Christ. Even adults don’t have the answers to all these questions, but God does and through His Word we can find out together what to do in everyday situations, whether it is in school, at a summer job, or anything else you may be wondering about.

2008 RECREATIONAL CHURCH SOFTBALL LEAGUE
The focus is to get out and have fun in a relaxed atmosphere. Some of the teams are good, some not quite so much, but everyone is there for a good time. Age limit is 14 years old. Games will be played Monday night at Kimble Drive and Lincoln, and Wednesday night at Henry Park and Kimble Drive. If you are interested in playing let Pastor Greg know. General Guidelines are posted on the bulletin board in the foyer.

HERITAGE COLLEGE & SEMINARY

They have a facility with excellent academic credentials, and a passion to develop leaders from the local church here and around the world. Their programs include a pastoral ministry, youth and family ministry, children’s and family ministry, social services, music and seminary preparation.
Heritage is offering a special package to new students. If someone wishes to attend in a full-time capacity (even in a one-year program), Heritage will give them round-trip airfare, a pick-up at the airport, a $500 maritime student bursary, and if they register in our residence apartment by June 13, they will also receive a $500 discount of that.
Please see poster on bulletin board for more details.

PLEASE ENCOURAGE OUR YOUTH AS THEY CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION
Please be an encouragement for our young people as they continue their education and prepare for their career. We will be including a name and address of one of our youth each week in the bulletin. Please be in prayer for these students and perhaps send them a note or card of encouragement (care packages would be welcome!).
If you, or someone you know is attending post-secondary school, please provide the name and address to the church secretary so that their name may be included in future bulletins.

PRAYER CHAIN
It is time to update our Prayer Chain. This ministry is in place for times that prayer is required for an urgent or serious situation. When the person who is the first link in the chain (usually Pastor Greg) is contacted with a prayer request he/she contacts the next two people on the chain and then they contact the people who are next to them and so on. It is a very effective means of getting the word out and prayer to begin. In order for this to work we need people who are willing to participate. Anyone interested in participating in this ministry, please contact Diane D. at the church office.

GEARY AND AREA MEDICAL RELIEF COMMITTEE
The Geary and Area Medical Relief Committee is available to assist those in need of medical help. The Medical Relief Fund may be able to offer financial assistance to those in need. Please contact our Geary Baptist Church Representative Lew K. at 357-9942 for further information.

EVERYONE PLEASE NOTE
Remember to shut the doors and turn out the lights! Thank you.

Anyone who will be entering hospital or knows someone entering hospital, and would like a visit, please call Frances H.

ENCOURAGEMENT NOTES IN FOYER - There are small notes of encouragement in the foyer for you to give out. There is a place to write a personal note on the back of the card. I am sure we can each think of many people who could use a word of encouragement.

A FEW GENTLE REMINDERS - When using the Church and Family Centre facilities, please be sure to turn off the lights, photocopier, and sound system when you are finished. Please make sure the doors are locked when you leave. Thank you for your help in this endeavor.

Junior Church - The Junior Church Program is available during the Morning Worship Service for children ages 4 through Grade two.

PRAYER CHAIN - Everyone who has signed up to be part of our church's prayer chain may pick up his or her copy of the chain in the foyer. It is printed on blue paper. Thank you for being part of this ministry. If you have questions concerning how the chain work, please contact Diane Davidson.

All workers need to complete this form every January! Please complete your form and sign it and then give it to Diane Davidson or place completed form in Clerk’s mailbox in the foyer. More forms are available on the table in the foyer. Thank you.POLICE BACKGROUND CHECKS & APPLICATION FORM FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH WORKERS -

The completed forms are to be passed in by March 13, 2005. This would include all workers who help with: Cubbies, Sparks, T&T Clubs, JVs, Word of Life, Junior Church, Church Nursery, Prayer Meeting Nursery and VBS.

PROFESSIONS OF FAITH - Just a reminder to all the Directors and Superintendents of the various church ministries to inform Pastor Greg about any professions of faith that happen during your ministries. This will allow everyone who makes a profession to have the proper follow up to ensure their growth and understanding in their Christian walk.

THERE ARE LARGE PRINT "OUR DAILY BREADS" AVAILABLE NOW IN THE FOYER.

BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS - Please have all bulletin announcements passed into Diane or Pastor Greg by Thursday of each week. You may email your information to Diane or place it in the clerk's mailbox in the foyer of the church. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
