for Sunday, June 27th following the morning worship service.

Let's spend some time together in praise to our Lord and Saviour,
Jesus Christ. Please plan on being in attendance. It just
won't be the same without you.

SR. YOUTH MINISTRY
The church body is asked to be in prayer for the Sr. Youth
Ministry, due to the retirement of Mike & Edith from its
leadership. Currently there is no one planning to head this
program in the fall. Pray for wisdom in new leadership for

ministry or whether to continue with current format or developing
something new. Please see the Pastor or one of the Deacons
if you have interest.

you for helping in this matter.
CHURCH DIRECTORY
Remember that this is a new project for 2010.
You will not be included if you have not given your information
this year. Included in the bulletin is a list of names that
are in the directory thus far.
HELP FOR MEDLEY AND POLLY
Medley and Polly are looking for some men who could hang out
with Medley for a couple of hours once a week. Polly needs
to have some freedom to get out once in a while but Medley’s
balance is not good and she is afraid to leave him alone.
They need some men around in the event he should fall. If
volunteers can give one or more nights in the next 8-12 weeks,
please notify Pastor Greg or Diane so a schedule can be made.
This is a great way to help a brother and sister in need and
demonstrate our love for one another.
CHURCH LIBRARY FOR BOOKS AND
VIDEOS
Pastor Greg has a number of books and videos that are available
in the church’s secretary office to borrow. This is
an “on your honour” system. There are sign out
sheets on the bookcase that you fill out with information
pertaining to the book or video you are borrowing. You need
to write in your name, phone number, name of the book or video,
catalogue number of book, date the book or video is signed
out and when you return the book or video write in the date
it was returned. If you have any questions, please speak with
Pastor Greg or Diane Davidson.
PRAYER CHAIN UPDATE
The Geary Baptist Church has a prayer chain in place for situations
that require urgent prayer.
Here is how it works: prayer requests are made know to Pastor
Greg or one of the Deacons, they begin the prayer chain by
calling the people that are in the “link” beside
their names, then those people call the people in the “link”
next to them and so until the chain is completed.
Guidelines: Each prayer request is treated as confidential.
The person with the prayer request will make it known publically
if they wish. If you are calling people on the prayer chain
and they are not at home, do not leave a detailed voice message
but simply ask the people to call you back so you can talk
to them directly. Call the next person on the chain and that
will keep the chain going.
If you are interested in participating in the prayer chain
please let Diane Davidson know.

PLEASE ENCOURAGE OUR YOUTH AS
THEY CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION
Please be an encouragement for our young people as they continue
their education and prepare for their career. We will be including
a name and address of one of our youth each week in the bulletin.
Please be in prayer for these students and perhaps send them
a note or card of encouragement (care packages would be welcome!).
If you, or someone you know is attending post-secondary school,
please provide the name and address to the church secretary
so that their name may be included in future bulletins.
PRAYER CHAIN
It is time to update our Prayer Chain. This ministry is in
place for times that prayer is required for an urgent or serious
situation. When the person who is the first link in the chain
(usually Pastor Greg) is contacted with a prayer request he/she
contacts the next two people on the chain and then they contact
the people who are next to them and so on. It is a very effective
means of getting the word out and prayer to begin. In order
for this to work we need people who are willing to participate.
Anyone interested in participating in this ministry, please
contact Diane D. at the church office.
HOSPITAL VISITATION
Anyone who will be entering hospital or knows someone entering
hospital, and would like a visit, please call Frances H.
ENCOURAGEMENT NOTES IN FOYER
- There are small notes of encouragement in the foyer for
you to give out. There is a place to write a personal note
on the back of the card. I am sure we can each think of many
people who could use a word of encouragement.
A FEW GENTLE REMINDERS
- When using the Church and Family Centre facilities, please
be sure to turn off the lights, photocopier, and sound system
when you are finished. Please make sure the doors are locked
when you leave. Thank you for your help in this endeavor.
Junior Church - The Junior
Church Program is available during the Morning Worship Service
for children ages 4 through Grade two.
ARE YOU AGE 14 TO 17?
- If you are age 14 to 17 and help out with any of the children's
programs (such as Jr. Church, Nursery or VBS) you need to
fill out an application form. This is so the Church will have
a record on file of everyone who is helping in the programs.
Please see Diane Davidson for an application. Thank you for
you time and consideration in this.
All workers need to complete this
form every January! Please complete your form and sign it
and then give it to Diane Davidson or place completed form
in Clerk’s mailbox in the foyer. More forms are available
on the table in the foyer. Thank you.POLICE BACKGROUND CHECKS
& APPLICATION FORM FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH WORKERS
-
All children and youth workers are being asked to get their
police background checks completed as soon as possible. You
can pass them in to Diane or Pastor Greg to have on file in
the church office. If you have not received your copy of the
"Child Abuse Prevention Policy" and the "Application Form
for Children and Youth Worker", please contact Diane
Davidson. This would include all workers who help with:
Cubbies, Sparks, T&T Clubs, JVs, Word of Life, Junior Church,
Church Nursery, Prayer Meeting Nursery and VBS.
PROFESSIONS OF FAITH -
Just a reminder to all the Directors and Superintendents of
the various church ministries to inform Pastor Greg about
any professions of faith that happen during your ministries.
This will allow everyone who makes a profession to have the
proper follow up to ensure their growth and understanding
in their Christian walk.
Daily Bread - HAVE YOU
PICKED UP YOUR "DAILY BREAD" FOR MARCH, APRIL AND MAY YET?
IF NOT, THEY ARE IN THE FOYER.
THERE ARE LARGE PRINT "OUR DAILY BREADS"
AVAILABLE NOW IN THE FOYER.
BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS

or Pastor Greg by Thursday of each week. You may email your
information to Diane or place it in the clerk's mailbox in
the foyer of the church. Thank you for your consideration
in this matter.
Baptism, Church Membership, Child
Dedications - If you are interested in baptism,
church membership or a child (baby) dedication, please see
or leave your name. If you are interested in being baptized,
please speak with Pastor Greg. There is a baptismal service
